We will gather in the beautiful Sierra foothills of central California to embrace our deep connections with each other and our Monther Earth in the glorious Beltane season. Come revel in the joy and magic of drumming, dancing, chanting, and creating sacred sounds and spontaneous ceremony throughout the night. As we open ourselves to new possibilities we will emerge transformed to greet the morning sun!
We begin our community building process early in the week as we gather to prepare and decorate our gathering space on Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday evening all participants will be on-site and ready to co-create four sacred fire circles. We start that evening with a sacred fire circle in our lodge-sized tipi that will take us part of the way through the night. On Thursday and Friday nights our outdoor sacred fire circles begin at midnight and conclude at sunrise. On Saturday evening we return to the tipi where we share our community magic in a more intimate setting and can bask in the "after-glow" of our sacred time together. That evening we also prepare ourselves to reenter the mundane world in the days that follow. Daytimes during the gathering will be spent deepening our connections with each other through the heart-sharing council process and delighting in the various workshop ("playshop") offerings of our community. Join us in co-creating spontaneous music & dance, and bring your own offerings to share with all of us! In honor of Beltane (Thursday May 1) we will be dancing the Maypole that afternoon.

Shed the trappings of mundane life in a magical natural setting at the height of lush springtime. Gaia's Oasis is a nature preserve dedicated to the sacred Earth and has an outdoor fire circle, tipi, labyrinth, ponds, creeks, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Gaia's Oasis connects you to all that is sacred in nature. In order to create a safe container for the magical work we do, this gathering will be drug-free and alcohol-free. We will be employing a number of safe and effective techniques to naturally induce trance states through the magic of the all-night sacred fire.
Gaia's Oasis is located in Central California south of Yosemite (near Fresno/Madera) and is an easy 3-4 hour drive from the SF Bay area, or a 4 to 5 hour drive from the LA area or about 7 hours from San Diego or Las Vegas. The Fresno/Yosemite International Airport is 50 minutes by car and makes a convenient gateway for our more distant Family of Fire guests.
GaiaFire begins on Monday, April 28, as we gather to prepare and decorate our gathering space. We welcome you to join us on Monday and Tuesday to participate in "building our village" and deepening our connections with each other. All participants must be on-site by Wednesday evening at the very latest.
Much of the fun and excitement of this gathering is having each of you be part of our all-volunteer staff. You may be asked to spend some time each day helping out. Having everyone join in the day-to-day activities is important to the practical, well-grounded magic that we do as a community.
Three vegetarian dinners (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) are included with your registration fee of $80. Although we will not be serving "formal" meals for breakfast and lunch, there are generally plenty of left-overs and other good healthy food available for your enjoyment. Please bring food for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday's shared meals and for the food alter at the all-night fires. Gaia's Oasis is located less than 4 miles from a supermarket, so it will be possible to purchase food after you arrive. If you'd like to supplement your meals with meat, you'll need to cook it outdoors on your own grill. Also, if you bring many perishable items, please bring a cooler with ice since refrigerator space will be limited.
Most attendees will be camping, but for those who need it, indoor space is available for a nominal charge. Our indoor space includes two bedrooms and loft space in the lodge and one upstairs bedroom in the cottage. Vehicle camping is also possible, but please let us know in advance if you plan to camp in your vehicle.
